Channel Repairs
The contract involved isolating, draining, cleaning, and repairing large concrete channels, with the roof removed and replaced by insitu concrete lined with HDPE sheeting. The project was divided into 12 different stages with work programmed to be offset from other work taking place on the site. Demolition was done using a hydraulic wall saw and the cut & crane method, reducing noise, dust, and risk. The demolition waste was reused on-site for embankments.
The project also included constructing a bypass channel, isolating sections from adjacent live channels, and installing new isolation gates for improved plant flow control. The HDPE lining and concrete extension below the water level enhanced durability and functionality.
