G & T Construction Ltd ("G&T Construction," "we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about how we collect, use, and safeguard your personal information. We handle personal information in line with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.

By using our website (the "Website"), you agree to this Privacy Policy. We may update it from time to time, and changes take effect once posted.

INFORMATION WE COLLECT

Information you provide: your name, email address, phone number, postal or site address, company details, project information, and job application details such as your CV, work history, qualifications, licences, referees, and right to work status.

Information we collect automatically: pages you visit, IP address, device and browser type, referral sources, and the date and time of your visit.

Information from third parties: we may receive information from recruitment agencies, referees you nominate, credit reference agencies, councils, principal contractors, engineers, and subcontractors.

Site visitor and health and safety information: if you visit one of our worksites, we may record sign in details, inductions, and incident or near miss reports. We are required to collect and keep this information under the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015.

HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION

We use your information to:

  • Deliver, manage, and invoice for our civil construction and carpentry services.

  • Communicate with you about projects, scheduling, and works in progress.

  • Assess and process employment applications.

SHARING YOUR INFORMATION
  • Project partners: we may share information with subcontractors, engineers, consultants, suppliers, councils, and principal contractors where needed to quote for, consent, deliver, or certify a project.

  • Service providers: we use third parties for website hosting and analytics, accounting and payroll, communication tools, and IT and data storage. They may access your information only as needed to perform their role.

  • Business transfers: if we merge, are acquired, or sell assets, your information may transfer as part of that transaction.

  • Legal compliance: we may disclose information where required by law, or to protect our rights, safety, or property.

Under the Privacy Act 2020 you can:

  • Request deletion of your data, subject to legal and record keeping obligations. Some records, including health and safety, building, and financial records, must be kept by law for set periods.

  • Opt out of marketing communications at any time.

SECURITY AND RETENTION

We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect your information from unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. Access is limited to personnel who need it. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure.

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law, including employment, tax, building, and health and safety record keeping. Unsuccessful job applications are generally kept for 12 months unless you ask us to delete them sooner. Information no longer needed is securely deleted or anonymised.

INTERNATIONAL TRANSFER

Some of our service providers, such as website hosting, email, and backup tools, store data on servers outside New Zealand. By using our website and services, you consent to your information being transferred, stored, and processed overseas. We take steps to ensure it remains subject to comparable protection to that required under Information Privacy Principle 12 of the Privacy Act 2020.

CHILDREN UNDER 16

Our website and services are not intended for children under 16. We do not knowingly collect their personal information without verifiable parental consent, and will promptly delete any such information if we become aware of it.
